The Physiotherapy Department provides quality rehabilitation, preventive care and education to the patients of the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre and the Community of Kahnawake, incorporating the vision, mission and values of the hospital. The focus is on problems related to neurological, musculature and skeletal system that effect both movement and function. Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and care is given in collaboration with the client and other health care professionals, as indicated.


Treatment Goals


Orthopedic (musculoskeletal) rehabilitation; neurological rehabilitation, pain reduction; improvement of range of motion and mobility; increasing strength; improving coordination, endurance and circulation; increasing pain free activity level and endurance; education and independence.


Other Services


Foot orthotic clinic and the evaluation and ordering of specific medical devices.


Clientele Served - By Doctor's referral


Our target is the adult population although people of all ages are seen with the exception of children with neurodevelopmental delays or problems. Care is provided to both in and out patients with either chronic or acute ailments, adult day center participants, C.S.S.T. and S.A.A.Q. patients.
